PROJECT

TERRASENTIA.CO UI REDESIGN

SUMMARY

A redesign of the partner website to the autonomous robot Terrasentia. I was tasked with finalizing the redesign, and creating a high-fidelity prototype using Adobe XD.

ROLE

UI Designer

BACKGROUND

Terrasentia

Terrasentia is an autonomous phenotyping robot for agricultural application. Using a combination of sensors—including RGB cameras, LIDAR, GPS, and more—the robot assists farmers by collecting data on traits for plant health, physiology, and stress response. The data collected are then uploaded to Terrasentia.co, a partner website, where they are analyzed and stored.

THE NEED

Follow the Brand

The pre-existing website did not express the same branding motifs as Earthsense's other assets and needed to respond to contemporary design trends.

THE TASK

FINISH THE REDESIGN

The redesign had begun prior to my joining EarthSense. I was tasked with finalizing it, which included revising user flows and designing the UI.

THE TASK

The Break Down

To do so, I began by breaking down the design of EarthSense's other designed assets into basic branding elements, notably color and the various values that comprise the essence of the brand (the development of a formal design system is currently in progress).

PRODUCT

Final Design

The final design embraces the playful softness and nurturing nature of Terrasentia and the Earthsense brand, with its rounded corners, enhanced z-dimension, color choice, and minimal aesthetic, just to name a few. The goal is to create an interface that attracts but does not overwhelm the user, conveying ease to the tasks of uploading, analyzing, and downloading their data.

FUTURE WORK

USER TESTING, ITERATION AND DEPLOYMENT

The next steps for this redesign include conducting user testing, iterating in response to testing outcomes, and deploying the website.
